July 1 Update: Great News!
With the permission of your WVU Mountaineer Band, we have moved our NYC Thanksgiving Dinner with the band for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade to a larger venue at the beautiful Waterside Restaurant (click link). With this, Jeff and I have decided to addd this to the Alumni Band itinerary for you to attend instead of dinner on your own, at a seperate facility.
There is a small difference of $29. per person to match the price of the bigger event, we hope that this is fine with you and, that amount will be added to your balance due for the trip.
This is great news!
If for any reason you choose NOT to want to have Thanksgiving dinner with the band, please let Jeff know and we'll reacy accordingly.

Performing Arts Consultants in partnership with Jeff Caplinger at All About Destinations is excited to present your epic WVU Alumni Band Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade Tour!
The most popular holiday parade in America, the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, has been a Big Apple tradition since 1924. Attracting more than 3.5 million people to the streets of New York City each year and 50 million TV viewers nationwide, the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade has become so synonymous with Thanksgiving tradition in NYC that it's often shortened to "The Macy's Day Parade."
Your West Virginia University Marching Band is going, and so can you, to cheer them on with the WVU Alumni Band. We are Performing Arts Consultants and we're taking the band to the parade, in addition to many of their parents and of course, YOU, and the Alumni Band!
Four-day, three-night Packages to NYC and the Parade, in conjunction with Jeff Caplinger's All About Destinations complete with bus transportation, hotel, and parade/alumni related activities; Wednesday, November 27 through Saturday, November 30, 2024. Your preliminary itinerary is as below!
All pricing shown is "per person," so if you're reserving for two people, select two travelers and list each of your names. A couple items have tentative pricing (like our Broadway show) so there MIGHT be a small price adjustment up or down closer to parade date.

Bus Transportation
We'll depart the WVU Coliseum lot on Wednesday, November 27 at 7:00am, returning by 5:00pm on Saturday, November 30. All transportation for our group tour, is included, of course!
Pricing is dependent on a full bus of fifty-or more (50). A smaller group MIGHT impact our published prices and be cause for price adjustment.
Hotel Accomodations
Hotel accommodations have been arranged for the Alumni Band at the Doubletree, Newark NJ Airport, just a hop, skip, and a jump to your activities in Manhattan. Ten miles from the heart of New York City, the Doubletree provides quick Manhattan access without the high NYC prices!
Every Doubletree stay starts with a chocolate chip cookie, and Starbucks coffee. Enjoy their fitness center and indoor pool, if you still have energy before and after our scheduled days!
King and double rooms are available, as well as pricing for triple and quad occupancy should you wish.
Parade Viewing
It's why we're here: The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade!
Bleacher seats are not typically available to the general public and are closely managed by Macy's (and not for sale). As a group, we'll find an appropriate spot along the sidewalk to watch the parade together on Thursday morning.
The band is allotted a certain number of seats in the bleachers and we're working to see how we MIGHT arrange for some of those through the band (at likely additional cost/donation). TBD!

We’ve seen a few commercial vendors selling everything from simple reserved parade viewing to gourmet all you can eat and drink packages at $500 or more. Most/all grandstand seats are NOT FOR SALE and most parade viewing, unless you're well-connected, is from the street. There will be plenty of opportunities to line up, and see the parade!
Radio City Music Hall's Christmas Show
After the Parade on Thursday (2pm), we'll see the Radio City Music Hall "Christmas Spectacular" featuring the world famous Rockettes and of course, Santa Claus. Your ticket is included!

From the moment you walk into Radio City Music Hall to the very last dazzling dance number, experience the magic that only Rockettes can create. Bring your family for a one-of-a-kind tradition, where wooden soldiers dance, ice skaters glide, snowflakes swirl—and the unmistakable spirit of Christmas in New York City comes alive. Enjoy this Friday performance, with the band.
Thanksgiving Dinner
Dine with other Alumni Band members at Tito Murphy's in Midtown Manhattan (or similar). A Thanksgiving buffet is being arranged.
Your Ticket to Broadway
Broadway tickets aren't quite available yet for November, 2024, but on Friday night November 29, we'll look to see Wicked, SIX, or The Lion King as a group. $125.00 has been budgeted for your Broadway ticket. If costs are significantly lower or higher that this for our selection once tickets are available, we'll adjust your package pricing accordingly!
Additional Tours and Adventures!
As a group, we've also scheduled time and tickets for the 9/11 Memorial and Museum, a trip-up the Empire State Building, Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty, and a trip to Rockefeller Plaza and the Today Show Plaza. There is some personal/free time scheduled as well for you to enjoy the City as you please!

Your trip of a lifetime to New York City and the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade includes:
* Round trip bus transportation from WVU including all bus transportation needs while in the New York City area and bus driver tips.

Optional Travel Insurance
Whereas PAC is not an insurance company, you may purchase trip insurance for the value of your trip at third-party site if you would like. We often use Travel Insured, who can quote your insurance price and coverage online based on the value of your trip. Travel Insurance, if desired, can be secured directly through them, or your preferred vendor. In most cases, Insurance must be booked and paid for the same week as your deposit is paid!
Coverage and regulations have changed quite a bit in the Covid era, so please, read your coverage documents carefully!
Roommates
If you are paying for your family member or roommate under your account, there is no need to do anything special at registration.
If your roommate is paying separately under their own account, be sure to add their name and email address when asked at checkout (important) so that we can match you up with them on the hotel rooming list.
As example, if you have two roommates staying with you in a triple room, you will pay for one traveler in a triple room (not three), and list both of your roommate names and email addresses at registration. If by chance they decide not to come however, you will be charged for a double or single room as appropriate.
Cancellation Policy
CANCELLATION POLICY
A $100 per person cancellation fee is applied to all reservations cancelled after March 1, 2024. Your reservation is fully refundable until then for any reason.
In consideration of non-refundable payments made by Performing Arts Consultants to tour operators, land operators, airlines and other agents associated with travel and/or festival arrangements, accommodations and/or services, the following will apply:
Cancellation for any reason PAC will refund all monies paid minus $100 per person through February 1, 2024.
- 60-46 DAYS PRIOR TO DEPARTURE – an additional $50 per person cancellation fee PLUS any cancellation charges and non-refundable payments levied by the various vendors mentioned above (TBD).
- 45-31 DAYS PRIOR TO DEPARTURE – an additional $100 per person cancellation fee PLUS any cancellation charges and non-refundable payments levied by the various vendors mentioned above (TBD).
- 30 DAYS OR LESS DAYS PRIOR TO DEPARTURE – Absolutely NO refunds can be granted.
Trip/Travel Insurance MAY assist you with coverage for cancellation.
PAYMENT POLICY
Upon receipt of your invoice, please mark the payment dates on your calendar to maintain a punctual payment schedule. WeTravel will send notices as a reminder. Payments are timed for when PAC needs to pay vendors for your fabulous trip!
Late payments for any reason are subject to a $25 late payment fee.
